What are eBooks?
eBooks are full size, full colour*, page-by-page
reproductions of your book in Adobe Reader .pdf format which you
can view on your desktop, laptop, or tablet computer. eBooks are
fully searchable and are compatible with Adobe Reader functions
such as highlighting, page notes, and spoken word audio. Adobe
Reader is a free reading software. You probably already
have it on your computer, but if not, just go to the
Adobe Reader webpage and download it for free.
*If original book is in colour, then the eBook will be in
colour.

What are secure eBooks?
Some publishers require that the intellectual property of their
titles be protected from file sharing using a Digital Rights Management
(DRM) system. With this system, you are permitted to open your eBook on
a maximum of two computers. This system can also limit your ability to
print all pages of your eBook or copy & paste text from your eBook to
other files on your computer. The restrictions placed by the publisher
on each eBook are noted on the book's description pages of this website. In all other ways
secure eBooks are identical to regular eBooks.
How do I know if I'm getting a secure eBook?
Check the book's description page of the eBook you want. Under "eBook
File Description", if the file type is "Secure eBook", than the
eBook is secure. You will also see the specific restrictions (if any)
that publisher has placed on the eBook. If the file type simply says
"eBook", then the eBook is not secured
Secure eBooks are also labelled "Secure eBook" on the shopping cart
checkout page when you click "add-to-cart" and on your final invoice.
What software will I need to read my eBook?
Your computer will need Adobe Reader V.7 or greater, which is a FREE
software download. If you do not already have a current version of Adobe
Reader installed,
For secure eBooks, you will also need to install the FREE
Adobe Reader plug-in from FileOpen Systems, Inc. to access your
downloaded file. Once you have installed the plug-in on your computer,
it does not need to be reinstalled with future eBook purchases. This is
safe, and Adobe approved plug-in that will not negatively impact your
computer system, privacy or personal information.
How does the plug-in work?
The FileOpen plug-in allows only authorized computers to open and
work with a purchased eBook. Like any DRM security system, usage rights
such as copy & paste or printing limitations, are stored on the eBook
file. When your computer has an internet connection, the plug-in
initiates a behind-the-scenes call to our database to verify that your
computer has authorization to access the eBook. This process is
instantaneous and will not delay the opening of your eBook. This plug-in
is safe and Adobe-approved. It will not in any way impact your computer
system, privacy or personal information.
Do I need the plug-in to access all eBooks?
No, you will only need to install the plug-in to view those eBooks
marked as "secure eBooks".
What is the process of ordering an eBook or eVideo?
When you view the eBook and eVideo library, you will be taken to our
partner website at Aircraft Technical Book Company in the USA.
Although you will be purchasing using their shopping cart system, all
currencies are by default GB Pounds. However, you may select any
other currency to make payment if you wish.
When you order an eBook, you will first go through the standard
shopping cart to place the order. You will then receive two e-mails at
the e-mail address you provided. The first e-mail is your invoice. The
second e-mail is the download instructions and download links for the
eBooks you purchased. This email may not arrive immediately, as manual
checks need to be carried out at our end. However, if it is not
immediate, it should be no more than a few hours. Click the download link provided in the e-mail and
save the eBook on your computer.
For secure eBooks, there are two additional steps; install the
FileOpen plug-in as described above, and enter the username and password
which was provided by e-mail after you completed your purchase.

forwarded to the end-user via e-mail. The locking technology locks the
document to the first two computers that the file is first OPENED on.
You must use the username and password that was included on your invoice
